Established and chartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin on November 29, 1962, this Club is part of the largest service organization in the world.
Dubbed by Helen Keller as the 'Knights of the Blind', our motto is 'We Serve'.
Our primary focus, as a Club, is to raise funds for distribution to the less fortunate worldwide through Lions International initiatives as well as to our local community.
Since our inception, the Brookfield Lions have donated funds annually to the City of Brookfield Police and Fire Departments, Park and Recreation Department, the Library, National Night Out, supported the local schools in their post Prom and graduation activities, and sponsored high school students to attend the World Affairs Seminar held at UW-Whitewater. We have also supported the Wisconsin Lions Camp for handicapped children, Leader Dog for the Blind, Juvenile Diabetes and various Veteran organizations. We were a major contributor to the new skate board park built at Wirth Park, and also built the pavilion there.
This past year, 2007, 16 Brookfield residents attended the Lions Camp for handicapped children in Rosholt, WI.
